Girls in 7th grade from schools throughout the area are invited to a special Shadow Day at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart on Thursday, March 12, from 8 a.m. to noon. This free event at the all-girls college-prep day-and-boarding high school in Lake Forest will explore all things that make up a Woodlands education. From academics to arts, goûter to global education, school spirit to spirituality, participants will get a sampling of what sets the school apart. Woodlands Academy, again named Illinois’ #1 Best All-Girls High School by independent research firm Niche in its 2020 rankings, is also the state’s top all-girls school in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education, according to a study released in November, 2019, by Newsweek magazine. To register for the March 12 Shadow Day, visit www.woodlandsacademy.org/shadow. Lunch is included for all 7th grade participants in this special event and those not familiar with goûter will learn about this beloved and food-centered Sacred Heart tradition.
