Considered a "memory play", Tennessee Williams "The Glass Menagerie" takes place in a tenement apartment in St. Louis in the 1930s. Tom Wingfield enters and introduces himself and sets the stage. He introduces his mother, Amanda, his slightly crippled sister, Laura, and a gentleman caller. Amanda's obsession with the old ways and its effect on how much she tries to control her adult children is a major theme of this play- as it is for many of Tennessee’s plays involving mother-child relationships. Come & experience this classic drama up close & personal as the audience will be seated on the stage.
