Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a futuristic concept but a reality that permeates our daily lives, reshaping the world around us, from facial recognition systems to algorithmic decision-making to social media to daily business use cases. This presentation will explore the benefits and challenges in various domains, including healthcare, finance, sales, and media, and will also confront the pressing ethical issues surrounding AI, such as algorithmic bias, privacy, and transparency.
Our Guest Speaker:
Davis Schneiderman serves as Executive Director of the Krebs Center for the Humanities, Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Professor of English at Lake Forest College. His work includes leading interdisciplinary initiatives that bridge the humanities, technology, and innovation to foster creative problem-solving in an era of rapid technological change. Supported by a $1.2M Mellon Foundation grant, his leadership positions the College at the forefront of AI and humanities research, integration of ethical inquiry with innovation through course, faculty workshops, curating cross-disciplinary research initiatives, or consulting with colleges, universities, businesses, and cultural institutions on responsible technology integration.
