Fran is a Professor Emerita of Law & Public Policy in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. She also taught as a visiting professor at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. Her teaching area include business organizations, entrepreneurship law, and intellectual property.
