Name: Getting Your Child to Read at Home: Building a Family Culture
Date: September 30, 2019
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
Reading for pleasure is a lifetime habit that begins in childhood, but it often requires an intentional effort on the part of parents to build a culture of reading within their family. Whether your child is a toddler or a teen, reading books can be a transformative experience for them, and it’s never too late¬—or too early—to start. Paula Lillard Preschlack, a Lake Forest resident and AMI-trained Montessori educator, will teach you how to build a culture of reading in your family and help your children become lifelong readers. As a published author and frequent public speaker, Paula’s mission is to help parents and teachers understand and work with children more successfully, providing guidance on topics such as literacy, character development, independence, and more.
