Break out the Manolos and the Barolos, the Jimmy Choos and those buttery Chards—A Safe Place will be hosting their third annual Wine Women & Shoes event at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 5:30pm to 9:30pm.
An irresistible blend of fashion and compassion, Wine Women & Shoes events are all about putting the “fun” in fundraiser. They give women the opportunity to get glamorous with their girlfriends while enjoying incredible varietals from top winemakers––all for a good cause.
A Safe Place’s event will feature unlimited wine tasting, a shopable multi-designer marketplace, and charming Shoe Guys™ serving up this season’s must-have items on silver platters—all for a swirlin’-and-stylin’ good time.
In addition to shopping peep-toes while sipping Pinots, guests will enjoy Best in Shoe and Best Dressed contests, a Wall of Wine where everyone can win, a Key to the Closet winner-takes-all raffle prize, exciting silent and live auction items, delectable bites and desserts from the kitchen of the Lincolnshire Marriott, and a designer fashion show to top off the evening.
The highlight of the evening, local fashion designer Ann Everett will showcase her own unique clothing designs at the end of the night. Ann is Chicago based from Tipperary, Ireland who has lived all over the world. Her design company was formed in 2012 after years of personal frustration she felt at not finding wearable original pieces. Ann is not formally trained in design, but derives inspiration from luxurious fabrics, winter landscapes of her birthplace, and the architecture of Chicago.
Early bird tickets are $90 through March 10 with all proceeds benefitting the free programs and services that A Safe Place provides to victims of domestic violence and their families. Ticket prices go up after that and will be available for $125 on the night of the event.

Since 1978, A Safe Place has been Lake County’s sole provider of services exclusively addressing domestic violence, serving individuals throughout the Chicagoland area including Cook, McHenry, and Kenosha counties. The organization’s lifesaving programs and services for victims of domestic violence and their children, include crisis support, housing, legal advocacy, counseling, community outreach, and education to prevent future abuse. Last year, A Safe Place answered over 1,500 calls on the 24-hour hotline, entered over 2,300 Orders of Protection for victims of domestic violence into the court system, and served over 29,000 individuals that came from each and every community.
Founded in Napa Valley in 2005, Wine Women & Shoes is a fun-and-fashionable national event series that lets women put their most generous foot forward, sip to their hearts’ content, and laugh until their cheeks hurt. With events in over 100 cities—and counting—it has helped net over $70 million for various causes across the country.
